Firebase
Google's app backend platform — the BaaS behind the Detecta Security Platform and several of my white-label apps.
Firebase is Google's backend-as-a-service: Firestore, auth, cloud functions, hosting and messaging, closely integrated with Flutter.
How I use it
- Detecta Security Platform — Firebase BaaS alongside NestJS microservices on AWS, at Detecta.
- White-label Flutter Apps — Firebase or Supabase backends across my Independent AI & Full-Stack Engineer (Freelance) apps.
- Stores Helper — a script that provisions Firebase projects per app flavor: creates GCP projects, enables APIs, provisions Firestore and registers Android and iOS apps.
- Akashi — the live demo site is deployed on Firebase Hosting.
Why it matters
Firebase gives mobile teams auth, a realtime database and hosting with almost no backend to run, which is why it pairs so often with Flutter and FlutterFlow. When a project outgrows it, I complement it with custom services, as at Detecta.
