What it covers
The foundational AWS certification validates overall understanding of the AWS Cloud: cloud concepts and the value proposition of the cloud, core compute, storage, database and networking services, security and the shared responsibility model, and billing, pricing and support.
Where it shows up
I earned it while working as a Software Engineer at Detecta, where I built NestJS microservices on AWS for the Detecta Security Platform, alongside a Firebase backend and Flutter apps.
Why it matters
The certification formalizes cloud fundamentals — choosing between managed and self-run services, security responsibilities and cost — that I apply when deciding where each part of a product should run, whether on AWS, GCP, Vercel or a backend platform such as Supabase or Firebase.
