Google Colab
Hosted Jupyter with GPUs — where I run fine-tuning jobs, with datasets pulled from Hugging Face.
Google Colab provides hosted Jupyter notebooks with GPU runtimes.
How I use it
In my Real-time Data Systems work, GPU jobs such as Fine-Tuning a time-series foundation model run in Colab. I generate the notebooks from scripts; they pull datasets from Hugging Face and run hyperparameter grids with PyTorch. CPU-bound research runs instead as self-terminating jobs on AWS Spot instances.
Why it matters
Matching each workload to the cheapest hardware that fits — GPU notebooks for training, Spot CPUs for simulation — keeps research affordable.
